He received his undergraduate degree (B.Sc) from the Middle East Technical University (METU) Environmental Engineering Department in 1998, and his graduate degree (M.Sc) from METU International Relations Department in 2010, and most recently his doctorate (Ph.D) degree from METU Earth System Sciences Department on ‘Natural Gas and Pipelines Diplomacy’ in 2016.

He continued his business life together with his academic studies. He started his career as a participant of the management trainee program at Garanti Bank (1998-1999), and then worked as a Portfolio Specialist until 2001. Afterwards, he worked for Eldoradogold/Tüprag Metal Madencilik Ltd. in the development of the Kisladag and Efemcukuru Gold Mines Projects (2002-2004). Then, he worked at the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline Project for the BTC Co consortium led by BP, as an Environmental and Social Advisor, responsible for monitoring the compliance of the project with the World Bank/IFC standards (2004-2008). After the completion of the project, he worked as the Turkiye Manager, HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) and Approvals (2008-2009) at EON, one of the world's leading and Germany's largest energy company, and then as Senior Project Development Manager (2009-2013) at the German RWE company, for an 800 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project in Denizli. In 2013-2014, he worked as the Turkiye Manager of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Permits at South Stream Transport BV in Amsterdam for the South Stream Offshore Natural Gas Pipeline Project.

He returned to Turkiye in October 2014 and worked as the Director of Licensing and Governmental Relations at Akkuyu Nuclear AS, the first nuclear power plant project in Turkiye, until November 2019. Since then, he has been giving "Environment, Society and Technology" course for the graduate and doctorate level students at METU Earth System Sciences Department and providing consultancy services. Meanwhile, he worked as the Director of the International Finance Projects Department at Cinar Mühendislik, and later as the advisor to the board of directors, concurrent with his other consultancy services. He taught 'International Trade' at Çankaya University for a term for the undergraduate students.

He contributes as a member, coordinator, speaker and researcher in various think tank and non-governmental organizations such as Turkish Informatics Association, Common Mind Policy Development Association, Tohum Nature Association, Strategic Thinking Institute, 21st Century Turkey Institute.

He has published articles and a book titled "Emperor of Natural Gas: Russia". He has provided consultancy on nuclear energy and smart cities for ASELSAN, Sabancı University, metropolitan municipalities and chairman of the board of directors/board member in various organizations.

He is a columnist on 'enerjitime.com' and 'yurtseverlik.com', and participates in various TV programs and Youtube on various topics, especially on environment, energy, nuclear and international relations/world politics.

He is fluent in English and is a motorbike rider
